The last camp ....

There is one place in this world that my children love.  Austin Lake Park.  We spent our last camping trip of the summer there.  Who am I kidding?!  That is the only place my kiddos like to go camping.  We have been told "All the other places are boring."  Who am I to question?  It is located about 20 to 25 minutes from our house...depends on how fast you drive.  Which makes it easy to come home if we choose not to take the dog.  Yes, Dozer does not always come with us.

This year they did some renovations.  Updates to all the shower house, restrooms, water & sewer into more of the campground, wi-fi all around,  updates to the playgrounds, and pontoons to rent.  All in all ... well ... we really like the place!  Laid back.  Phones don't work there.  Which is FABULOUS!

Here are just a few pics of some new items, familiar faces, and fun times...............................

Home away from home!

My "bestest" girlfriend!

Daddys' big catch!  No that isn't him in the boots!  IDK why....

His favorite goofy face!  I love him!

Yep, I'm aware the bangs are way short and she looks like an little Amish boy.  But when it is done it looks good!

Paddled for 35 minutes.  Her legs were too short!

Peaceful....

Part of the tube slide.  I didn't take a pic at the top of the hill.

They look for the troll every single time.

Looks like an adult that has had too much!  LOL  No alcoholic beverages were consumed for this pic.

Hay ride with a camp buddy!  Look at how dirty her shirt was!

We don't care about clothes, hair, or anything while camping.  If we are clean and brush our teeth all is good!

Even the big dudes ride the hay wagon.
Couple of the new cabins for rent....

New shower house .. family shower room.  NICE!

One of the many new swing sets...

The girl was SO DAMN DIRTY every single day!  She had fun!

Another new cabin...

Would you trust these two to man a canoe?

We didn't!

A nice peaceful shot out the front of the canoe....

Not bad for a blind over the shoulder shot!
Three days of sleeping in a camper.  BLAH!  Damn squinty eye!

Too lazy to switch it around.  LOL  Going home!

Next year we will purchase the wristbands they have for $10.00.  You get unlimited use of the canoes, kayaks, pedal carts, slide, and I don't really know what else.  And Payne asked about taking water ski/wake boarding lessons.  They offer those.  Actually both of the owners children ... at least one if I remember correctly ... were part of Ohio University's ski team.  So they kinda know what they are doing.

Between all the playgrounds...think like six of them...the fishing, creek, swimming, and above mentioned activities you can stay pretty busy.  Not to mention all the bike riding you can do.  And this time around, I didn't take pics of the trails.  Yes, we walk all the trails.  Well, we go as a family and then I run them on my own.  We highly recommend The Rookery Trail around Memorial Day.  Blue Heron's come there to nest and it is just amazing to see them at the end of the trail in the sunny opening.

It was a great trip.  I love when the kiddos are happy.  Making memories is a wonderful thing!
